Prince William and Prince Harry memorably wore some very fancy attire (and occasionally pulled a silly face for the cameras) in their early days as royal wedding-goers

Anyone who saw the royal weddings of Prince William and Kate Middleton, and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, knows that the littlest royals serving as bridesmaids and page boys have a way of stealing the spotlight away from even the most radiant tiara-clad bride.

But it’s hardly a surprise that the young wedding party members get so much attention; after all, Prince William and Prince Harry had some seriously memorable moments serving in wedding parties in the 1980s, wearing some very fancy attire (and occasionally pulling a silly face for the cameras). And now, Prince George is keeping that tradition going!

Look back at their adorable outfits in these cute wedding throwback photos.

Prince William at Prince Andrew & Sarah Ferguson’s Wedding

Bridesmaids Zara Phillips (L) and Laura Fellowes (2nd R) and page boys Seamus Luedecke (2nd L) and Prince William (R) attend the wedding of Prince Andrew, Duke of York and Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York inside Westminster Abbey on July 23, 1986 in London, United Kingdom.
Though Prince William (far right, alongside Seamus Luedecke and Laura Fellowes at Westminster Abbey in July 1986) was dressed like the little prince he was in a sailor suit and straw hat, he had the wiggles throughout the ceremony just like any other four year old — memorably pulling faces at his fellow pageboys and bridesmaids and, at one point, yawning.

Prince Harry was five years old when he served as a page boy for his uncle Charles Spencer, the 9th Earl Spencer (and younger brother of Princess Diana), when he wed first wife Victoria Lockwood in September 1989.

William clearly had his royal wave from a carriage down to an art, well before assuming full-time royal duty. (His uncle Prince Edward joined him and the other wedding attendants for what was sure to have been a fun ride to Buckingham Palace.)

If you didn’t already know this was the 1980s, those baby pink suspenders and matching bridesmaids’ headband might have given it away.

The ceremony was the wedding of Princess Diana's brother, Charles Spencer, 9th Earl Spencer and Victoria Lockwood. The pageboys' costumes are influenced by Joshua Reynolds' 1786 portrait of John Charles Spencer, Viscount Althorp, which which hangs at Althorp, the Spencer family estate.
Prince Harry (between his cousins Eleanor and Alexander Fellowes, at the Althorp family estate in Northamptonshire) also clearly wasn’t immune from getting a little silly during the photos.

Queen Elizabeth II and Prince William surrounded by family and friends bid farewell to the Duke and Duchess of York as they set off on honeymoon after their wedding on July 23rd 1986. in London, England.

It wasn’t just William’s little sailor suit that caused a stir that day: He also got a little too close to a carriage in the processional, causing the normally unflappable Queen Elizabeth II (or Gan-Gan, as William called her) to pick up the pace and pull him out of harm’s way.
