Princess Catherine’s sweet nickname for King Charles behind closed doors revealed

Princess Catherine’s sweet nickname for King Charles behind closed doors revealed

The Princess of Wales has a very strong relationship with her father-in-law, King Charles. But did you know that, when they’re alone, Catherine gives her father-in-law the cutest nickname?

A courtier told Richard Jobson of The Mail that Catherine refers to King Charles as “Grandpa.” ‘Beloved daughter-in-law’ and ‘Darling daughter-in-law’ are two of His Majesty’s adoring nicknames for his daughter-in-law.’ As per the report, he extends a “loving kiss” upon her arrival every time.

Although the two have always been close, their bond deepened as they turned to one another for support during their individual cancer diagnoses and treatments, a source previously revealed in April.

When Catherine was staying at the London Clinic, the King visited her at her bedside. The day before Catherine made her cancer diagnosis public in March, the two had a private lunch in Windsor.

Robert Hardman, the author of “Charles III,” added, “It’s obvious that he worries a great deal about her. I believe he wants to ensure that he does everything within his power because, as a young, healthy mother, this is a very different situation than it would be for someone in their seventy-sevens.

“I’m sure he’s been a source of comfort for her in the same way she’s probably been a source of comfort for him,” he continues. “I believe it has only served to strengthen their bond. He’s always held his daughter-in-law in the highest regard. He finds her to be absolutely amazing.

“People in hospitals don’t really want to cause a scene. But the truth was that she was there, and so was the King, along with the Queen. They also visited each area to make sure the Princess was comfortable.

Charles and Catherine appear to have gotten off to a good start right away. The Princess talked about how well her first meeting with the King went back in 2010, when she and her now-husband were interviewed for their official engagement.

“I was apprehensive about meeting William’s father, but he was incredibly kind and hospitable. For me, it couldn’t have gone any more smoothly.”
