Prince William and Princess Kate’s abandoned home that few people know about
After moving into Adelaide Cottage, a candy pink, four-bedroom house on the Windsor Castle estate, in 2022, the Prince and Princess of Wales are reportedly “very happy” with their young family.
Princess Catherine has been able to find peace and quiet in her Grade-II listed home. She has been spending a lot of time there recently, removing herself from the spotlight while undergoing ongoing cancer treatment.

The Wales family can come and go without worrying about being photographed because their house has “seven gated entrances and exits to Windsor Castle,” a source told the Daily Mail.
A place of solitude for the Wales family
A mysterious property practically sits on their doorstep, but who lives there? Catherine and William are raising Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 5, in the private and secluded Wales family home.
The public organization that maintains England’s historic sites and buildings, Historic England, describes Adelaide Cottage as a two-story stucco-faced home with ornate casement windows, drip moulds, and pierced bargeboards.
Formerly called Adelaide Lodge, it included a portion of the original Royal Lodge designed by architect John Nash and constructed for the Prince Regent.
Adelaide Lodge, which is currently abandoned and habitable due to issues with it not being underpinned, is eerily close to Adelaide Cottage.
The purpose of underpinning is to provide structural support to buildings that have experienced subsidence or other problems. Without it, the Lodge cannot be considered a safe place to live.
Prince William and Catherine’s bizarre abandoned property

The reason the royal family hasn’t planned to renovate the now-abandoned Lodge, which could make a welcome addition to their space as their children get older, is unknown, as is little about what the property was used for or who lives there.

As of right now, all we can picture is George, Charlotte, and Louis having fun in and around the abandoned accommodations—that is, if it’s not as eerie as Buckingham Palace!
