Kate Middleton made her grand return to the spotlight at Saturday’s Trooping the Colour 2024 parade, clad in a white Jenny Packham dress trimmed with a black striped belt and matching bow at the neck.

And as eagle-eyed royal fans quickly pointed out on social media, it appears the Princess of Wales may have updated an old favorite outfit for the special occasion.

Ahead of King Charles’ coronation in May 2023, Kate wore a strikingly similar style for a Buckingham Palace lunch and walkabout, which she styled with black Aquazzura slingbacks, a satin Prada clutch and the late Queen Elizabeth II’s Bahrain Pearl Drop Earrings.

For this year’s Trooping the Colour, the princess appears to have updated the midi-length look’s solid black belt with a striped one and added the black-and-white bow for an added flourish.

“I knew the dress looked familiar,” one fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter) of the upcycled style, while another added, “I much prefer today’s version.”

Wrote a third, “That makes me love it even more! (I remember being young and obsessed when Princess Diana did this with her outfits!)”

This time around, Kate paired the piece with a black-and-white Philip Treacy hat, ivory Jimmy Choo pumps, a Mulberry clutch, Cassandra Goad pearl cluster earrings and the Irish Guards Regimental Brooch, the latter nodding to her role as the regiment’s honorary colonel.
